These Terms and Conditions apply to services supplied by:

Slice It Right Pty Ltd
Trading as Slice It Right
ABN 40 682 461 865
6 Quarry Road
Hamilton Hill WA 6163
Email: [email protected]

These terms apply together with any quote, scope of work, variation, invoice or other written agreement provided by Slice It Right.

Where a quote contains different or additional terms, the accepted quote will apply to that project.

Nothing in these terms excludes any right or guarantee that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.

Quotes and Acceptance

Quotes are based on the information available when they are prepared, including the details, measurements, plans, photographs and site information provided by the customer.

A quote may be accepted by:

  • Signing or approving the quote
  • Confirming acceptance by email or SMS
  • Paying a requested deposit
  • Instructing Slice It Right to schedule or begin the work

The customer must check that the scope, site address and project details are correct before accepting the quote.

Quotes are valid for the period shown. Where no validity period is stated, Slice It Right may confirm current pricing and availability before scheduling the work.

Scope of Work

Slice It Right will complete the services described in the accepted quote.

Services may include concrete cutting, drilling, demolition, strip-out work, asbestos removal, concrete scanning, surface preparation, equipment hire, debris removal and related work where included in the quote.

Work not expressly included in the quote may be treated as additional work and may require a variation or separate quote.

Customer Responsibilities

The customer must:

  • Provide complete and accurate information about the site and requested work
  • Confirm they own the property or have authority to approve the work
  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the work area
  • Inform Slice It Right of known hazards, restrictions and site requirements
  • Provide available plans and information about concealed or underground services
  • Obtain any required owner, strata, landlord, engineering or regulatory approval
  • Keep children, pets and unauthorised people away from the work area
  • Remove or protect furniture, equipment and sensitive items near the work

Unless expressly included in the quote, the customer is responsible for obtaining permits, engineering advice and other project approvals.

Site Conditions and Concealed Services

Concrete cutting, drilling and demolition may be affected by conditions that cannot reasonably be identified before work begins.

These can include reinforcing steel, post-tension cables, electrical wiring, plumbing, gas services, voids, variations in concrete thickness, asbestos, contaminated materials, structural damage or incorrect plans.

The customer must disclose any known or suspected hazards and provide all available service plans.

If an unexpected condition is found, Slice It Right may stop or modify the work where reasonably necessary to protect people, property or equipment.

Additional investigation, scanning, testing, removal or work may require a variation.

Concrete Scanning

Concrete scanning is only included where stated in the quote.

Scanning results can be affected by depth, reinforcement, congestion, surface condition, access and the material being scanned. No non-destructive scanning method can guarantee that every concealed service or object will be identified.

Slice It Right will perform scanning with due care and skill and explain any material limitations identified during the work.

Asbestos and Hazardous Materials

Asbestos removal will only be completed where it is expressly included in the accepted scope.

The customer must disclose any known or suspected asbestos, hazardous substances or contaminated materials at the site.

If suspected hazardous material is discovered unexpectedly, Slice It Right may stop work and isolate the area where reasonably necessary.

Testing, specialist removal, disposal and additional safety controls may require a separate quote or variation.

Dust, Noise, Slurry and Vibration

Concrete cutting, drilling, grinding and demolition may create dust, water, slurry, noise and vibration.

Slice It Right will use reasonable controls to manage these effects. However, some dust, noise, vibration, minor chipping or surface disturbance may be unavoidable due to the nature of the work.

The customer should remove or protect sensitive items before work begins.

Slice It Right is not responsible for pre-existing damage, defects or structural weakness that becomes apparent during properly performed work.

Variations

A variation may be required where:

  • The customer changes the requested work
  • Measurements, quantities or site details are incorrect
  • Additional work is requested
  • Hidden services or unexpected site conditions are found
  • Access differs from what was represented
  • Safety, engineering or regulatory requirements affect the work

Where practicable, Slice It Right will explain the variation and its effect on price or timing before proceeding.

A variation may be approved in writing, by email, SMS or another agreed method.

Immediate work required to protect people or property may be completed where it is not reasonably practical to obtain approval first. The customer will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.

Scheduling and Delays

Work dates and completion dates are estimates unless expressly confirmed in writing.

Timing may be affected by weather, unsafe conditions, equipment failure, illness, restricted access, other contractors, hidden hazards, regulatory requirements or events outside the reasonable control of Slice It Right.

Slice It Right will take reasonable steps to notify the customer of a material delay and arrange a suitable alternative.

Prices and Payment

Prices and payment requirements are set out in the accepted quote or invoice.

The customer must pay any deposit, progress payment or final amount by the stated due date.

Slice It Right may delay scheduling or commencement until an agreed deposit has been received.

Where an undisputed invoice remains unpaid, Slice It Right may provide notice and suspend uncompleted work until payment is made, where it is safe and lawful to do so.

The customer must not withhold payment for work that is not genuinely disputed.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Customers should provide as much notice as reasonably possible when cancelling or rescheduling work.

Where Slice It Right has already incurred costs that cannot reasonably be recovered, the customer may be required to pay those reasonable costs. These may include materials, equipment hire, permits, disposal bookings, travel or subcontractor charges.

Slice It Right will not charge an amount that is disproportionate to the reasonable loss caused by the cancellation.

Slice It Right may cancel or reschedule work where the site is unsafe, access is unavailable, required approval has not been provided, payment is overdue, the work cannot legally be completed or an event outside its reasonable control prevents the work.

Subcontractors

Slice It Right may use appropriately qualified or experienced subcontractors to complete part of the work.

Only the customer and site information reasonably required to complete the relevant work will be provided to a subcontractor.

Waste and Clean-Up

Waste removal, disposal and final clean-up are included only where stated in the accepted quote.

Unless otherwise agreed, clean-up means removing waste and debris created directly by Slice It Right’s work. It does not include professional cleaning of surrounding rooms, buildings or external areas.

Completion and Concerns

The customer should inspect the completed work when reasonably able to do so and notify Slice It Right promptly of any concern.

Prompt notice allows Slice It Right to inspect the issue and arrange an appropriate response.

Where reasonably appropriate, the customer should give Slice It Right an opportunity to inspect and address an alleged defect before engaging another contractor.

This does not prevent urgent action being taken where necessary to avoid injury or further property damage.

Consumer Guarantees

Services supplied to consumers come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

These may include guarantees that services will be:

  • Provided with due care and skill
  • Fit for a purpose made known to Slice It Right
  • Supplied within a reasonable time where no timeframe has been agreed

Nothing in these terms limits a customer’s right to a remedy where a statutory consumer guarantee applies.

Liability

Each party is responsible for loss or damage caused by its negligence, unlawful conduct or breach of the agreement.

To the extent permitted by law, Slice It Right is not responsible for loss or damage caused by:

  • Pre-existing defects or structural weakness
  • Inaccurate plans or information supplied by the customer
  • Undisclosed hazardous materials or concealed services
  • Work completed by another contractor
  • Changes or repairs arranged without giving Slice It Right a reasonable opportunity to inspect the issue
  • Events outside the reasonable control of Slice It Right

Slice It Right’s liability will not be excluded or limited where doing so would be unlawful.

Photography and Site Records

Slice It Right may take photographs and video recordings before, during and after works to document existing site conditions, safety controls, work progress, completed works, quality assurance requirements and project records.

The Client grants Slice It Right a non-exclusive right to use photographs and video recordings of the works for marketing, portfolio, tender, promotional and business purposes, including on its website, social media platforms and other marketing materials.

Slice It Right will take reasonable steps to avoid publishing confidential information, personal information, security-sensitive information or identifying details of the Client without consent.

The Client must notify Slice It Right in writing prior to commencement of works if photography, video recording or publication of images is restricted at the site. Any site-specific restrictions must be agreed upon before works commence.

Information on the Slice It Right website is general in nature and does not replace a site assessment, engineering advice, accepted quote or project-specific instructions.
